    It will draw less current.

In theory it might last longer... hmm.... how to put it.....

Lets say this, if by chance your parallel load is actually something LOWER than 2-ohms, (which is likely) there is the potential for the amp to last a SHORTER time than it was intended...

That is a better way to say it...
    It's not an optical illusion.
    It just looks like one.....

So if I run series I would run the tower on their own and the cabins in another?

That would be one way to do it...

                Here, Phil's recommendation:

Put the tower speakers on half of the amp, one speaker per amp channel.

Wire the boat speakers in parallel on the other half.

If the amp gets too hot and shuts down, switch the boat speakers from parallel to series.

Use the fader control on the radio to connect the tower half of the amp to rear output. Connec tthe boats speakers amp section to front output. That way, you can use the fader to control the volume of the tower speakers, or even turn them off...

All we are doing is managing current....

Again, I feel like I am answering questions a little blindly, there are a few different ways to do this; some better, but none the best.

WIthout a total system approach, some of your questions are tough to answer, like your bridging question the other day.

That being said, for what you have at the moment, I think my comment right above this is the best course of action for you for the time being.

Go for it!!!! Do it like I shared, and let us know what you think!

the 85 hertx fixed-frequency crossover directs sound above 85 Hz, (i.e. the stuff higher than bass) to the smaller full range speakers.

It delivers everything below 85 Hz, (the bass) to the subwoofer.

I should have said it sooner, turh the crossover ON!!!!!

You do have a subwoofer, right?

Thank god we do not have any gates, compressors, equalizers, effects processors, or anything else from the likes of Dolby, Shure Brothers, BBE, Aphex, MAckey, Bearinger, Peavey, etc...

Yeah I got one. The tower speakers always do sound high pitched. And on the switch its not on or off its like something and HP.
