if land wasn't so expensive I would make a private lake, plant the big trees around it so it's always calm. use it as an water storage for farmers

The problem with the farmers and water storage would be that they would dump their run off water that they took from your private lake and return it to your lake. The problem now is that the run off contains pesticides...

yeah but it would not run off to the lake. no way, water doesn't run off around here, it goes 5 feet and is then gone.

I bet that you could charge a couple grand a year and people would pay it to have an always glass lake, with islands/whatever in the middle so it's alsways smooth, bet it would be amazing
