and it wouldn't open it becuase it said it dosen't know what created it...etc but it could search for it or i could pick a program to open it with and I came up SOL

No, you need to download the main software first and install. That would just right of the Visual Web Developer 2005 located in the middle of the web page.

Yes but this is going to be a learning tool for you. If I wanted to program your site I would but I would rather teach you how to do it. That is what I have time to do not create and program the site that you want.
