Yes and if it doesn't come off completely, you could sand it down with sandpaper. Should work just fine. A lot of work thou...

yeah no problem though. I gotta go make sure the box is gonnna fit. the one made for them is a touch to big I think, so it's going to be close. I may be forced to have someone make one anyway, even though I don't like any of the local shops.

Then do it yourself. Shouldn't be that difficult and you have already did a few for other speakers in your boat.

i don't feel like making another box, plus I have never made a ported one, which is what I want.i'll spend a bill in wood to make it plus my time, so figure I'll just buy this one, but gotta see if it fits.

Sounds like a great idea. DIY project are nice to do but you pay up your arse in time spent. But, when you pay someone else to do it you don't get that gratification of knowing that you did it.

yeah, i know. If I wanted a sealed box, I would build it myself, but 4x8 sheets of mdf are such a PITA to cut on the table saw alone, plus I really don't want to waste the time if I can. And making a ported box complicates things even more. I have plenty of gratification on this project, I don't mine loosing a little

Then, your best bet is to purchase it. Why not keep the carpet on then???? One less thing to do and I am sure it should be about the same color as the boat's carpet.....

I found 3/4 inch wire loom, too bad it's in freaking blue, yellow or red colors. So I can rice my boat out!! sweet!!!

I'm taking the carpet off so that way I can seal the boxes. MDF absorbs water so much, and these boxes will be in the front walk way=very good opt to get wet. s
