We took it to the car wash and sprayed it. It helped but theres still a trace of the smell.

We didnt do the washer because ours is a top loader and its got that thing in the middle.

Today were heading up to a lake to plop the boat in two replace to bunks on the trailer before we leave for table rock.

Well, at least you did something. The middle thing (agitator) will help to scrub the smell out of it. But, try the carpet out and check later to see if it's effective. If you do the washer thing, make sure you roll the carpet with the backside facing away fron the agitator so the agitator can scrub the carpet.....
