How about you ask to have your bosses car when you make these trips????? Keep asking him to borrow his car but on the other hand, all the driving in your car can be a write off.... Does the company pay you gas mileage????

Boss can't make the decision. That's what's fun about the corporate life.

even my boss doesn't get a car, and he drives a lot as well. It's silly, someone got into a wreck, so everyone looses the cars, except field help

Well, I can see their point. It's a liability issue but you can drive your car and get into a wreck. If you are doing company work in your car, the company is still liable.... Sorry, I just don't get it..... But, to each their own.

yup, my point exactly, if I wreck my car on company time it doesn't affect my rates, or my record go figure.

i'm just stuck between a needle and a hard spot. One part of me want's to get some small little car, like the yaris that still gets 40+ mpg and drive the crap out of it, then when I move, sell it and get what I really want. Then the other part of me says screw it, but what I want, or actually kind of what I want, and keep it till i move. Not sure. I really want the Audi S5, but going to wait till the second year or so, plus it's not going to be out FOREVER! Oh well, as I get more and more pissed off at dealers, I may just go get that yaris.

ha ha, work is done they keep giving me more, and I keep finishing it, darn, if I only was paid for the amount of work I do, i'd make a killing compared to all the other folks. They stretch stuff out that takes me an hour and do it for weeks.!

I know exactly what you mean. I am also provided work and it only takes me a fraction of the time that they think it does.

others might be doing the same thing we are. Spending more time online and less time working on stuff...... Maybe they have us fooled????????

ha ha ha, no i know a lot of "others" and they do stuff like read books or really just take that long. You know 30 minutes at the coffee pot, 20 minute bathroom, stop in the hall, do that 3-4 times a day and your at 2-4 hours. Talk to the gf/wife on the phone, etc.

I would say it depends upon money and how much you are going to spend. I would get a car that is good on gas while being inexpensive. If you buy a A5, the value of that car when you sell it will be terrible because of all the mileage you have put on it. That is what you have to think about when doing this. What car has the best resale value? Are you seeing clients that might judge you by the car that you drive?
