There are several types out there, and several brands. Kicker has a line of wiring and accessories, and ours are pretty good. There are many other good ones out there as well.
I really do not have a favorite in terms of performance, but prefer those with twisted pair construction, as it is a good natural way to minimize interference and noise getting to the amps.
As a side note, wires twised will also help to prevent compass deviation for any wiring running near a compass.
So to answer your question simply, I really do not have a recommendation, other than not to buy super-cheapy or super expensive. Middle of the road will do you well most all the time.It's not an optical illusion.
It just looks like one.....
