The method of this experiment is to isolate copper from the sample of both substances. Copper is isolated from copper (I) chloride by reacting a sample with zinc. The copper mass is measured directly, the chlorine mass is determined by comparing the copper (I) chloride mass with the copper mass, and the value of the copper mass-chlorine ratio is determined by comparing the copper mass and the chlorine mass. Copper can be isolated from copper (II) chloride by reacting a sample with zinc. The copper mass is measured directly, the chlorine mass is determined by comparing the copper (II) chloride mass with the copper mass, and the value of the copper mass-chlorine mass ratio is determined by comparing the copper mass and the chlorine mass. For both reactions the samples are dissolved in water and reacted with excess zinc. The excess zinc is reacted with excess hydrochloric acid, and the copper is filtered from the solution.Common Sense is not so Common
