Dual voice coil Sub accepts 250 watts rms

I'm with you on this stuff...
Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute, and it seems like an hour. Sit with a pretty girl for an hour, and it seems like a minute. THAT'S relativity. Albert Einstein

In my free time I thought I would build a sub box. Cant build a sub box without getting a new sub to put in it

                  Another question
If I get a sub that accepts 500 watts rms dual voice coil will the amp that is 300 watts rms at 4 ohm or 500 watts at 2 ohm be enough to power. Only asking since i most likely will not understand you answer to my first question Yes and no answers I do better with

A dual voice coil sub has two electrical circuits, (the coils). Each coil has its own set of terminals. A dual voice coil sub has four terminals, two are positive and two are negative.

Dual voice coil subs can be found in a couple of different impedances:
Dual 4-ohm woofers can be either wired in parallel to a 2-ohm load, or in series to an 8-ohm load.
Dual 2-ohm woofers can be configured similarl into a 1 or 4 ohm load.

For any dual voice coil woofer, the opportunity also exists to be wired to a stereo amplifer that is pressed into service as a subwoofer amplifer. One channel to one coil and the second amp channel to coil 2.

Unfortunately we do not know the impedance of the woofer yet to determine how to wire it fir best results, and if the amp is truly compatible. DO you know what impedance, (in ohms) the coild are?
                              It's not an optical illusion.
                              It just looks like one.....
