Ya, it's a lot easier for me since I am living close to the Reunion site. rather nice and I think that tigeblue is trying to make this a yearly ordeal.
So far, we he has a lot of auction stuff where the money will go directly to the charity, wakeboarding mag is going to do an article, on Sat night there is going to be a huge slider show, and then Sat day you will be able to see some of the West Coast pro riders ripping it.

FINDERS KEEPERS
Lincoln City, OR. – More than 2000 handcrafted glass floats await discovery on the beaches of Lincoln City each year. The floats begin appearing mid-October and continue to do so daily, weather and ocean permitting, through Memorial Day Weekend, celebrating the coastal treasure hunt which began in 1999 to celebrate the Millenium, “Finders Keepers”.
These signed, numbered, and handcrafted glass floats are hidden along the 7? miles of public beaches of Lincoln City. When the floats are found, they become collector’s items. Bring your discovered treasure to the Visitor and Convention Bureau, 801 SW Highway 101 in Lincoln City to receive your certificate of authenticity and a biographical sketch of the artist who created the glass wonder.
In days gone by, visitors searching Oregon’s beaches often found treasures from the east, blown glass floats, in intriguing shades of green and blue. Used by Japanese fishing crews to float their nets, these spheres were as small as two inches or as large as two feet in diameter. They were hoarded, polished and adored--the ultimate find for a dedicated beachcomber.
Today buoyant plastics make a blown glass float a rare find, except on the beaches of Lincoln City where an army of volunteers has hidden thousands of floats along the beach since 1999. Volunteers hide floats all winter, above the high tide line and below the beach embankment. They are not placed in areas of danger or in areas that require any climbing onto the cliffs of the beach. Beach safety and caution should always be exercised when walking the beach. Never turn your back on the ocean; sneaker waves and the force of the ocean often move logs and can be extremely unsafe.
Trash collection is encouraged while beach combing for glass floats. When turned in at the Lincoln City Visitor and Convention Bureau, litterbags with collected beach garbage may be exchanged for a chance in a monthly drawing for a glass float. Litterbags can be obtained at lodging facilities and through the Visitors Center. Another drawing is held monthly at the Visitors Center for handicapped persons who are physically unable to comb the beach for their own chance at finding a float.
Lincoln City offers incredible art galleries showcasing some of the finest glass collections found in the Northwest. Galleries present featured artists and receptions throughout the event months. Glass floats are available for purchase in most gift shops and galleries, and glass blowing demonstrations and classes are available throughout the year at the Jennifer L. Sears Glass Art Studio, 4821 SW Hwy 101. So you didn’t find a float while you walked the beach? Lucky you! You can blow your own glass float at the studio.
Every October, Finders Keepers is kicked off with the Annual Glass Float Ball and the Glass Galore Art Fair. Each June, the Glass Weekend Gallery Hop marks Finders Keepers’ fiery finale.
Finders Keepers is faithfully sponsored by the Tanger Outlet Center, Chinook Winds Casino Resort, Lincoln City Lodging Association, the Lincoln City Visitor and Convention Bureau, and a variety of other businesses in Lincoln City.
