IMO, purchasing a house right now is okay... If you did that 1-2 years ago, you would be stupid. However, I did purchase one a little over a year ago but lowballed the crap out of them because they were willing to unload since the previous people that bid on the house kept backing out at the end. We got the house because we were persistently sending in bids and they finally agreed. They definitely didn't get what they wanted for the house but again we also got into a house that isn't turning into a negative equity POS....

does that tell you how old it is or how long the person owned it?

Yes, the house on zillow will tell you when the house was built and when the current owner purchased it. However, if the current owner has been in the house for 10+ years, then there won't be any selling history on the house.

My currenly house cost 4 times as much as the one you have a bid on.

And it is only 1744 sq feet on a .29 acre lot.

for cost of a house.... Yes but for a last purchase amount, I have found that that site is fairly accurate.

I'm just going to wait until it his rock bottom then get in to one.

Maybe we can do a rent to own on the house we are renting. I know the guy was trying to sell it last year.

I'm not close to selling my house. The market is still diving up here for the next 4-6 months. I'll still have equity in the house but not much... Better to stay put for 3-5 years now.
