It isn't as expensive as you think it is... I have a huge 65" dlp hdtv... cost less than $1900....

I have the vizio 50 but not the directv dish for hd or programming

I can tell when the GF turns on the TV and it's on regular tv... I ask her if she turned the channel to the hd channels and she says "IDK".. Then I turn it and then she says "Awe, that is better."...
