I think I am going to take the entire day off tomorrow and goof off in the shop working on my new boat.
I am thinking up stereo ideas now... Since there is no alternator on the boat, I am having to go with head unit power.... That or I may try to use a wicked little device we have on our OEM side of the fence that is a little non-power-supply BTL amp... that would drive a small 10" sub nicely and still only pull like 10 amps...
I will be maintaining the house battery bank from a 1.2A solar panel only...

I probably will use a Sony MEX-1GP head unit, (discontinued) since it is the radio I have in my Stingray. The MEX-1GP has a 1 gig flash drive built into the face plate, so it will do a ton of MP3 songs. Having two will be nice, (easy for GF to remember how to use) and the faceplates will interchange for 2x the music if I want to put both in either boat.
I will use a small 12v DVD player connected to an aux input and driving the TV(s) I intend to install in the berth and across from the lounge.
Speakers will be KICKER of course, but I may get to do some fabrication, as the interior cabin liner is different in the '87 model compared with the '77 I had a few years ago, and there is a lot less depth for speaker mounting.
It all should be pretty cool, and we should be able to anchor out in a quiet cove overnight if we want, sipping on whatever, and cook, and even catch the 10:00 news or Saturda Night Live if we choose.
I am excited...
