The sander I am using for rapid bottom prep is heavy, and I am holding it out at some crazy angles to get to the hull, all while staying back as far as possible to keep the nasty stuff off of me.
Tonight I will probably be on my back underneath, and the stuff will be falling right on top of me.

Working on a quotation of my ropes for the sailboat this morning. The rope that puts the back sail up and down is 60 feet just by itself. There are two sails, so two of those... Then there is the rope to control the sails, the back sail takes one and the front sail takes two... Then there is the down haul, the ot haul, the boom vang, the topping lift, the traveller car controllers, (2)
It is amazing to think that I could buy several used outboard motors for the cost of new rope....

This is on the new boat that you are sanding... Right????
yup.
The bottom paint I am putting on the bottom of the hull is compatible with the old paint that was there, but the prep work for the old paint was less than ideal in spots, and some of it has flaked off. I decided that the best guarantee was to just go ahead and pull most of the old stuff off and scuff it up real good so that the new paint has a good mechanical hand to grab to.

Boat accessories are expensive. I am trying to save a dime with my new boat so far by robbing the 24Ve and taking it into the RZ2... But there are some stuff that is not able to be migrated.

Very smart. It is being done correct the first time and should last a long time also.

Understood and agreed. Luckily the new sailboat came with some real clean utilitarian life preservers so I do not have to move them back and forth between boats.
Oh, did I share? It looks like the ropes will be over $300.00 total...

The question that I have is about the amps. Apparently they have fans running on them. Airflow has to come into that compartment somehow. Would I use the air chamber that comes from the front of the boat to make sure that there is sufficent air going into that area where the amp are or just leave that area alone???? My issue is that the summer can produce 100+ temp and I do not want to overheat the amps.... Ideas??????

Yeah, I went for the good stuff with the new bottom paint. There is a product at West Marine that I believe is called PCA. It is an anti-fouling and barrier that slowly wears away like a bar of soap. that it part of the mechanism that helps keep the bottm free of growth. Historically, most bottm paint would go bad after being in the water for a long time, and then being pulled out. The PCA is different, offering longer wear, and the ability for the boat to be hauled out at the end of the season, put on the trailer, and tucked inside for the winter, all without affecting the bottom paints functionality. Come spring time, if the paint still has sufficient thickness, all you have to do is put the boat back in the water. Then for touch up, just buy the sme stuff, run the boat through a car wash to get the thin soft outer laer off, and then roll a quick couple of coats back on. Easy, easy, easy.....

That isn't too bad.... Have you talked to Andrew Haney???? AKA SPBFan to see what he will charge you??? I am gathering a list myself to have him fill out but I can pick it up here in Sacramento instead of shipping it to me. Save in shipping costs.
