The alternative is a shot gun. All you gotta do there is get within 100 feet (of course that would make your nice Turkey dinner a waste of time, wouldn't it.)

With a bow, I doubt I could hit the broad side of a barn. But my neighbor accross the street is a competitive bow shooter.

I could hit one with in 30 yards, but that was when I used to practice once a week. Now I dont' even have a bow

Turkeys are tougher to kill with a bow than you might think. They have a small vital area to hit.

Yes but I dont hunt as much as I would like to. I grew up South Texas (Corpus Christi) and all of my family and friends are serious hunters. Ever since I moved up to Dallas I no longer shoot, fish or hunt. I still get a mouthfull from my brother from time to time about not ever hunting.

Man, I want to get down to South Texas to hunt hogs sometime. But the timing has never been right.

I did all those things as well, but have also slowed down. I still shoot my bow, mostly in my basement, but I don't fish, and rarely hunt anymore. I'd like too, but 2 young kids keeps me at home a lot (as well as work taking up a lot of time)

Amen bro. I used to fly all the time, camp play vball etc. Then I got kids, not that I wouldn't want em, but your priorities shift....whether you like it or not.

Luckily, my kids are major water rats, and ask to go to the lake a lot. My son things the boat is for running errands, and wants to hook up any boat with a tower he see to the back of our truck.

He even wants there to be sharks in our lake, he thinks that would be the coolest thing ever

Yep I here ya...my priorities have shifted as well. Couldnt really do those things as family.

Whats funny is my brother wants to take my RZ2 out and go Bow fishing for Gar at night.

Bow lights, swim platform. Cool tower to hang dead fish from....all selling points.


Gar are nasty animals, I say let him shoot as many as he wants.

My girls are getting there. They both inherited their mothers land-lubber tendancies, but I'm slowly beating that out of all of em (figuratively speaking of course)

My youngest loves boat rides, and my oldest is getting into knee boarding. she started out by use dragging her around the lake in our wakesurf board.

We had turkeys a few times... The most we counted was 11.

Yeah they got pretty close to the houses. We have also seen a deer, and my mom claims she saw a coyote.
