If someone is inflating a tire with a compressor that has a drier to remove the water, I can see the benefit in terms of preventig rust and corrosion, but in my opinion, they are just selling snake oil when they are talking about nitrogen inflation...

Again they would ignore us for 30 to 45 minutes hoping we would leave so they could pull this bs on another buyer. Salesman kept saying they are making nothing on the deal. Told them tough ***t. Take it up with the owner. I did not set the price.

Its not supposed to change pressure as rapidly as air and does not allow condensation which the little paper said in the dealership. promotes even wear.

My tires on all my vehicles have exceeded the mileage stated.

If I read your comment right, they suggest that if we have an equal volume of air, (mostly nitrogen) and nitrogen, and apply a compressive force to both at the same time and with an equal force that the pure nitrogen will compress more slowly? huh???? Seriously????
I don't buy it.

I agree with using dried air... but still... I think I will go do some quick research.....

Again there whole thing is a loss leader. Car was $7400 off of sticker. When some smuck comes in and they say we have this $3000 package of useless features you are still $4000 below MSRP. That works great for people who need to finance but I am a cash out the door type of guy

I am no expert but what I think I was trying to say is you have 40 PSI in a tire, when it is hot it expands and psi fluctuates higher and cold lower. With nitrogen it stays closer to 40.

Again I did not really listen to what they were saying because I was not paying for it and tires in the 25 plus vehicles I have owned have worked great with regular everyday air from my compressor

yea thats a good thing and another reason I like to finance somewhere other than the dealer but that doesnt always work out

Yeah, I understand, and the key thing is that you were insistent in not letting them charge you for it... good job for sure on that one...
