Got both, but have a problem to solve.....

I need to transfer the Itunes from this laptop to my wife's cause this one is going in for repair.

I cant do an Itunes back up to disk, because that's what's wrong with this one.

I am trying to transfer it over on my flash drive, but cant find the install file?

If you need to install itunes on your wifes computer, just download the itunes on it.
Itunes is easy and free to install on any computer go to Itunes.com and download from there and it will download and you can start the itunes install from there and use your flash drive to transfer your songs.

Am I making sense Itunes will only do a "backup" to CD. My drive is inop, so I copied all the Itunes/Ipod files to my flash, but cant find the install file. MS ones are easy to find.

Last time we had to reinstall it, it cleaned the songs from the Ipod. So, how can I copy the songs from the current Itunes. Importing from the flash to the new install is easy

Hmmm...

I have over 6K songs in my library now. If I lost a hard drive, it would be tough to rebuild. I need to get my buddy's usb hard drive over so we can do a mass drive file dump and get all of our libraries back in sync.

And I know my experience is not too relevant to what you are dealing with CHP, and I am offering literally no help as well, but I do not have the answer to your dilemna, yet I need to get a few posts to keep up with you, so at least I am talking about something similar to what you are...

I HATE!!!!!!! ITUNES.... Mainly because of that reason and it wants to do things its way while I want it to do things my way...

I hate iTunes too.. I use MEdia Player, and occasionally the Zune software, but have found that if I rip with MP, it populates the library for either software, but if I use aune to rip, I have to drag and drop to get MP to recognize it.

ITunes is worse in my opinion. It has all thos problems, and more. A friend of mine operates a dance studio and works a lot with edited songs. She shortens them a lot of the time to make the music work with the dance routine. iTunes FLIPS OUT if you do not follow a very precise set of steps for savig the copy of the song which is edited for length. IT also will ook at lengths, and often times rename the file, thinking the edited version is a different song, with similar run time...
