My GF wants to connect the wii that we are getting on x'mas to the 65" DLP big screen... I say no because the children will throw that damn remote into it.
Duct tape the remote to their wrists. There is a cord that straps around your wrist, but it still could easily slip off.
is the wii really worth it? i mean I have never played it!!
Depends in what you want in gaming system. Nintendo isnt much of a competitor anymore. They went for the cildrens, family friendly console. Sony wants to put every entertainment tool in one box....that has their name on it. And Microsoft wants to expand their computer nerdiness.

Its true... but I would still say the Xbox 360 doesnt compare to the PS3. Or atleast in the way of capabilities.
And another thing about nintendo is that they dont have a game thats really specificaly for the Wii, Mario is pretty much out.. I mean xbox Halo, ps grandtheft auto...resistance...
Sure they do, super mario galaxy. Which has become the highest rated game of all time, over halo 3, if you look at metacritic and such.
PS3 should be better, it had a year to hold out on 360, however, it will be a LONG time before you will see games that are able to take advantage of the extra power it has. The Cell processor and framework is a PITA to develop for. Everything must be separated and planned out into different threads. The 360 is much easier to dev for, and devs have had the time to learn more how to squeeze out more performance. Sony still hasn't put anything out that looks better than the 360. I have watched previews of like MGS 4, and it doesn't look that great either.
The 1 and only reason I would buy a Wii is because of the motion sensoring but, the playstation does that too!
Playstation does a hack sensor in it, and if you read reviews of games that use it, it seems tacked on. The sony motion sensor is akin to what is in the nunchuk of the wii. The wiimote, has an accelerometer in it, plus the special IR aiming mechanism.
Also, the sony doesn't even have rumble, but now you can get them.

The bluray disk has more space, yes? Therefor it would be better for gaming. More space=More detail. The cell processor is essentially 8 processors that work independantly ie, one for AI one for graphics, sound etc. The potential for the Ps3 is pretty big. Game makers have only scratched the surface of what it is capable of.
The XMB menu on the ps3 is also sweet too. The capabilities of the system is pretty awesome. I have a PSP also and since the newest playstation update I can now Connect my PSP to any Wifi hotspot in the world and from that location turn on my Ps3 at home and access saved files and watch live video feed from my living room.

I can't believe it but my wife actually asked for a Wii for christmas... This is unheard of in our house... She hates video games... We played at someone's house and she was all into it... It'll probably just collect dust unless I play with it... But she's getting one... That is if I can find one...
