Hmmm.. pulled the cardboard and rotted wood out of my lake camper's front door and rebuilt it Saturday.
The door was so flimsy in your hand, and you could bend it enough to reach inside. Not anymore... I carefully peeled the whole thing apart and then laminated up some plywood to replace the old shot core. a little spray glue and the old aluminum skins went right back on.
Now instead of the POS cardboard core, I have a nice ply-core door hanging. It closes with a certain "authority" it never had before...It's not an optical illusion.
