NXT20 vs Z1

New to the towboat world and I realize I'm in a tige forum. However, I have found 2 2015 close outs and NXT20 and a z1. The Z1 is about 8K more. Besides be a foot longer, why is it worth the extra money over the mastercraft.

To me the tige would be a no brainer all day any day. The mastercraft NXT just seems super cheap even compared to our R20. If you want to keep it in the budget you could go for a r21 which is a Z1 without as many features. I haven't heard how the mastercraft surfs but I'm guessing it's not nearly as good.
With the two models you have you're comparing apples to oranges.

I would take the tige all day over the nxt. I have crawled all over the nxt and not impressed with the overall quality of the boat and fit/finish. bet the engine in the z1 is bigger. betting overall resale will be a tad higher. how are the options between them.

The NXT is a price point boat, meaning that they make features as options to reduce price. So an NXT like bsreid mentioned the NXT would be more comparable to the R series. With that said, test drive both to determine what works best for you.

Z1 hands down....

Like others have mentioned, the NXT is an entry level boat. I personally picked up a 2017 R21 which waterline down is the same thing as a Z1 and I could not be happier.

I feel like the NXT was put out by MC just to let people who are brand loyalists say they own a MC......

Option and feature wise, the nxt is a price point. Basic gauges, basic color options, surf system is an option, audio is an option, base engine, etc. The Z1 will come with the 400 engine, Tige Touch, has a premium audio available as well as the AVX and custom hull color and interior color schemes.

Listing the options of each could easily justify the $8K difference.

I was in your place man few months ago and you can read my full review of my top3 2016 boats on WakeWorld.com (maybe the biggest boat neutral forum) because yes you are in a toge forum so everybody gonna sau you tige is the best haha (but really they are)

For mastercraft, pretty good boats when you open your pocket! They are not very surf specialist but it does the job. When you go with a X20 or any of the X Series on Mastercraft you have a luxury boat but they are such expensive man and dont even paid for good wake or surf haha.. and for the NXT ouch. Its a cheap but cheap boat i dont even tried it.
They made this boat in cutting EVERYTHING for a low price. wave is the ugliest of all 5 boat i tried, seats are even cheaper than Axis, design is simple, little motorisation, short warranty, i cant give you one positive thing! Not even tje price.. because seriously for the product its expensive.. its like you take the cheapest mercedes on the market sometime its better to have a fully loaded Acura for the same price.

if you are price limited go all the way with moomba they are good boat since 2013 and a really good price for the quality.
Tige are really how can i say the best specialized boats. They are surf beast, built for that. The surf wave of tige is just uncomparable to any other (and i tried 5 different company this summer) With their weight of ballast. Every wake boat have good wake, yeah but most of them you have to put 3 000 pounds to have it. Instead of 1 600 for tige, its a REALLY good fuel saver trust me! And now the interior, its been 25years tige win to most luxurious and ergonomic interior.

I was hard looking for my new boat the summer and after testing every boat i can i made my choice without any doubt and for 2016 tige offer a full 5years on everything this is a big plus too.
The only tips i can say is go tried them, its your decision not ours, if you like tje boat and ot does tje job for you take it

But 8k is REALLY worth all the option you'll have between tige and the NXT
