If you were to make the trip, this would be the year to make it.Along with the large field in history, there are at least 6 teams in the Unlimited class with a realistic shot at the win. Us air race fans are already on the edge of our seats.

On a side note, the fourth video in that line up (2004) was shot right next to me. Best seat in the house. I've said it before and I'll say it again, as a motorsports fan, you haven't lived untill you seen a race plane doing 500 mph 100 ft off the ground right over your head.

            Nicky,
Pretty awesome seats! It is amazing what that Bob Hoover can do with no engine!

Hi guys. Just stopping in for a sec. to say to all of you who like the Big Iron, you should be here. Spent the day out on the ramp yesterday watching some practice and qualifing runs and taking to "folks". You can't interact with a nicer bunch of people. I don't know of any other sport where, when you talk to the people involved (pilots, owners, mechanics, fans, photographers), it's like you've known them all your life. Everyone is just super cool and friendly and willing to talk about just about anything, as long as it's fast airplanes . Fastest run of the day yesterday was Mike Brown in his Hawker Sea Fury "September Fury". Fastest lap we clocked him at was 478mph. Yee Haaaaaw!

              LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLATE!

              Nick

This is NICKYPOO's next ride. It's designed for high performance skiing. Virtually no wake at all and, as an added bonus, it dries your hair within 15 seconds of getting up on your stick.

I think that if he went with the Acme 3 blade prop, he would get better performance!

Howdy y'all! Did you miss me? Liars. You know you did. Anyways, what a week. First and formost, it was a safe week. Zero injuries. Only issue was an oxygen tank on Merlin's Magic was over presurized and blew up. Fortunately nobody was hurt. Those poor guys had a rough week. First the race motor broke in half and then the tank blows. Sheesh. In the end, money prevailed. Mike Brown of Carson City, Nv. had everyone covered in September Fury. Those boys had their act together this year. All three planes ran and looked perfect all week. Complete domination. I'll get some more pics up for you guys as I can but here's your new Champ.

Thanks for the update! Like I said on my other post, I wish I could have been there. Hopefully, I will next year. Is it hard to book hotel rooms, in other words, how far in advance do you need to book?

Can't tell from the angle, what kind of plane is that?

Hawker Sea Fury. It seems to be a changing of the gaurd. For years the races have been dominated by P-51s and a certain Bear Cat. It seems we have now entered the era of the Fury. Or maybe it's just that we have entered the Mike Brown era. He has the cubic dollars to throw at this little venture. Speed costs money. How fast do you want to go?

So far as hotels, 3-4 months in advance should get you a good deal on a good room.
