What were the top five things to happen on TigéOwners.com in 2013?

But I dont see anyone in that group posting to come on over and be apart of the brother hood of something bigger? if there was I missed it. There is not doubt that group has tonz of knowledge, but it does no good as well to just create a different site if the masses dont go to it and reap the value of what a lot of you guys know?

that is easy... yes I did go there at times... because a lot of times that was the only thread with any activity(keep reading). The down side to that, on google you could find tonz of skantily clad images of women tied to this site and probably not the best image for a boat MFG to be associated with. And as I said before, did not bother me to check out the hot chicks. But from a business standpoint probably not the best. I have NO issues with you skipp or anyone else that used that section. It became a chat board, not a forum at that point in that thread. And yes I was a guilty as the next guy in terms of using it increase my post count. shame on me. I have issues outting myself in terms of that. I think the difference is its tied to emotion for some. But if you logically step back it does make sense not to have it. Do I think the site has lost a "loving" feeling. Not really. I think if anything there are just better mediums for it. facebook, twitter, instagram, you name it. If I understand now your saying that TO is not the place to create a medium to have any emotion relationships, some just call them friendships. If I have no emotion for someone why would I want to meet them or go boating with them. That would suck to spend any amount of time with someone that I didn't have any emotion for.

You also say that it was a chat board and that it would be better to use another forum for such activity. Then if we use another forum for "chatting" and creating friendships that is not good since we are now not a part of TO and sharing what we know. That almost seems like there was value in what we were doing or that we really shouldn't have to use another forum to "chat". For the record I still offer help and assistance here.

I wasn't / am not here for the pics, but as for your business reason as one to shut it down, I don't know how it worked for you but similar to almost all forums, unless you register and log in you can't see pics. So even if someone googles something I doubt there is that much interest in taking the time to register and log in hoping to see scantly clad women. Just my

I will point out that I have been a lurker of many forums on the internet for many years. Before I joined TO I lurked for a long time. Once I did join TO I was hesitant to post anything since I have seen many posters get eaten alive on other forums. But from my time lurking I saw that that didn't seem to happen here so then I felt comfortable posting here. TO was a site different from the rest. People were willing to help others and there wasn't any of the "bickering and nit picky stuff". Maybe it is just me and my perception but the last 6 months or so the site doesn't have the same feel as when I joined. There has been more threads deleted, nit picky, bickering. In fact I have seen a number of posts that have actually said that this site has become what others are. I recall in the past the number of posts that claimed how TO didn't have the issues that WW, Bu, MC, etc... I haven't seen those lately. My question would be why that is the case? You can't blame that on guys "chatting" somewhere else. Maybe it was there was a balance that existed that has been lost.

I would ask why you think #4 was an improvement considering that you hung out in there and posted as well? For those that really know that was a great loss, from lots of knowledge and participation. Even with those posts out of the equation there used to be a lot more activity on here than there has been recently. There were / are lots of friendships that came about because of that thread. I have personally met a number of the guys that were because of it that thread. I travel for work and it is nice to know that you can go meet someone and already know them. Several of our wives had thought that we were nuts for meeting a stranger, we weren't strangers. We knew and cared about others in all aspects of their lives not just boating. I have received help / given help whether boat related or other that doesn't happen in the other threads, they just aren't as personal and you don't get to know other like you did there. It was in the off topic so it was not like it was interrupting the boat discussion. Many of us always had a window open to TO because of it and saw if someone had a quick question that they needed help on and we were able to be there quickly and get them on their way. It was nice to know that you could get a quick reply on an issue you were working on.


Anyways mine:
1 - The VX - and those similar by owners
2 - ASR - From Announcement, reveal, to pricing and availability
3 - Search function was lost in translation
4 - Seems that TO's have lost that loving feeling - If you have been on here for a while you might understand
5 - Point system - Maybe that is a result of my #4

I agree with these top things as Skippa has ordered. It seems we all like the same top highlights just in different order. Matt you are the top of the list for keeping this site mangaged. You do a great job. I have learned so many things through this site and received lots of help. I have made many new friends through the PW thread and miss that section. Its nice to have a place to discuss anything with other Tige owners and friends. And last on my list would be Nobody's BS.

I agree with those that feel it's not much of a "family". I started out boating in a skiers choice product and became a regular on the moomba forums. I stay on there a lot more than I stay on here as the regular group of posters(have met a few) seem like a great bunch of guys. there's lots of rules to posting in the off topic area(and website as a whole), such as no advertising/selling and pics of scantily clad women are not welcome. most of it is self-regulated but every once in a while something sneaks thru. I think they have done a good job finding guys to help with the moderating that keep it inline.
I think I would spend more time here if it had a true off topic section and not just a pw thread but understand the reasonings why not and at the end of the day, It's Matt's website to moderate how he likes.
We all have a common interest in Tige boats, but makes me wonder how many more of us out there share other interests that we will never find out.

and political threads are not banned here, as they are on most other forums. Ive posted a number of off-topic threads since joining. Mostly computer type stuff, but non-boating none the less. As far as family type atmosphere and meeting friends, ive met people through this site from CA, OK, FL, OH, TX, SC, GA, TN, KY, UT, NV and probably a few other states. So plenty of great Tige owners out there. Many I converse with almost daily, just havent made it out there way to actually meet them. But I will say though, that the tone and temper of this site has changed a lot over the past year.

Although we have a few now and again, and again and again that act like 1st graders, Im glad Matt doesnt moderate it like a 1st grade class.....like some other forums are run. This forum has the least amount of oversight and "rules" as compared to other forums, but without a doubt, it does NOT have any more personality conflicts and issues as any other forum

I will say tho that I have learned a ton about my boat on here and have gotten many questions answered by that simple search button

#2 Removal of the PW thread. This was actually my favorite reason to visit the site. Not to see scantily clad women,but to make friends and enable me to meet several of my TO brothers and sisters around the country. As many of you already know i plan my Vacations around Tige dealerships and Factory visits.
#3 The Convex-VX for surf enhancement. As well as the discussions on other ideas to improve the surf wave.
#4 The great number of new owners to join the site and post pictures of their new boats. We love the pictures of the new boats.
#5 A whole Summer and Fall Nobody free.But alas Nothing lasts forever…………...
