I have no problem with politics in the off the topic area, just start it as such not turn any subject into politics, you seem to enjoy making people unhappy or mad thats the part I dont understand !

Although I don't use my boat for fishing, I know people back in MN/SD that do and see no issue with doing so. Great looking fish by the way!
Back on topic, this 1/2 ton Diesel really has my interest as I'm in the market for a new truck but have never been a fan of Dodge styling, nothing against the truck, just not for me. Wonder how long it will be before the others follow suit?

Nissan Titan will be the next with a Cummins 5.0L due out for 2015. Seems Toyota also will use the Cummins 5.0L for their tundra in 2016. Ford is having success with their Ecoboost, but maybe someone here knows more about ford?????
I'd have to imagine GM is thinking about it at this time, but I don't know since I mostly follow Dodge & Toyota.

Tow your boat with a diesel truck, any brand, and you won't go back to gas.
I agree with the power and mileage, but initial cost, maintenance costs and fuel prices are holding me back.....hence the reason I'm reading through pages of political garbage and off topic conversations, ha! My 03 Chevy AV with the 5.3 is too weak anymore to pull the boat up the grade from Lake Mead to Boulder City so I use my brothers Tundra. The lake is so low the ramp almost eats his truck before I can get the boat off/on the trailer where my AV is lifted 6" with 35s and makes the process much easier.
I just know the day I pull trigger on a new truck something better will come out!!!

Maintance costs ? 2013 dodge ram diesels oil interval 15k along with fuel filter. Pretty cheap to maintain and will outlast your gaser if you care for it by 5 times the life!
MPG towing with a gaser 10mpg average.. Average towing with diesel 15mpg. SO ever 5 miles you drive you spend 3.60 more in a gaser. Not to mention your resell will be much less and truck will expire much soonerwww.1320diesel.com Home of the Fastest Diesels!

If you calculate an average of 20,000 miles a year, you would save $1680 in fuel based upon the per gallon/MPG figures used.Last edited by Dandy; 03-05-2014, 08:15 PM."I think I am pretty smart for an idiot"

I tried to explain this cost comparative logic a few weeks ago and totally failed.
Not to knit-pick..........but the difference per mile is .08 cents per mile, not .06. ($0.35 minus $0.27 equals $0.08)
So for 15 miles driven in each vehicle, it will cost an additional $1.20....or .40 cents per 5 miles, not .42 cents and DEFINITELY NOT $3.60 per 5 miles.
AT 20,000 miles a year, you save $1600 bucks.....which is about the cost to insure it if it's a 4X4 and you live in a congested city like St Petersburg, FL
Here some more new info: Impressive!! I would take a Cummins over a VM MOtori any day.
