Hobbies/ Fun besides wakeboarding, surfing, boats etc.
My other interest is RVing.Shirley and i regularly travel to Florida and Texas. This year we plan to add a trip to Nashville Tenn. and another trip to Walnut Hills Campground in the Mountains of Va. near the Blue Ridge Parkway.
I also ride off road and some Motocross. Here is a small blooper/crash scene from a month ago. I have a ton of these but havent edited them all together yet.
I'm on the eastern foot of the Sierra Nevadas so obviously I surf the mountains in the winter. It's getting to be ridiculously expensive anymore though and I go less and less every year.
I'm also an avid Air Race fan. I have been all my life. This year is the 50th Anniversary of the National Championship Air Races (NCAR) and could be the the last. I certainly hope not as it will leave a giant hole in my life and my heart. As with anything completely awesome in this country (land of the lawyer), insurance will price it out of existence.
My main hobby is maintaining my 29 gallon salt water fish tank since I don't have my boat anymore. I currently don't have any new pictures yet. The tank has been running for a little more then a year and a half and I have had great success so far.
My current residence:
2 - Naked Clownfish
1 - Starry Blennie
1 - Diamond Goby
1 - Green Mandarin Goby
1 - Firefish
1 - Golden Coral Banded Shrimp
2 - Emerald Craps
15 (or more) - Red Footed Hermit crabs
2 - Bumblebee snails
5 - Mexican Turbo snails
9 - Asteria snails
1 - Red Bubble Tip anemone
1 - Frogspawn coral
1 - Green/Yellow Torch Coral
1 - Duncan coral
1 - Ring of Fire zoa
1 - Joker zoa
1 - Starfish
and a few other things.
The clownfish are a mated pair and every 21 days, lay a bed of eggs right under their anemone that hosts them.
I had two Firefish about a week ago. One of them died because it was being attacked by the Starry Blennie (this fish should be a friendly one but I must have got the one that attacks other fish )
I also had two Starfish last week, one of them died because of age
I also have some sponges growing but they seem to be doing okay for now. The sponges are there to show first signs of a tank crash
I also liked to play in the dirt but preferring the water nowadays, less cleaning afterwards.

I also, got out of motocross. It used to be my main sport before wakeboarding. Hanging out on the boat all day beats out at the tracks any day. I was thinking, I literally would wake up, load up, drive an hour to the track, only ride for 2-3 hours then leave when the tracks got blown out, drive home, wash everything. I would spend the same money riding bikes as I would out on the water (We split the gas bill with all the buddies).
Anyway I used to Race here and there. Mostly WORCS races when they were in town. I used to be in 450 B class.
Here's me back in the MX days
One thing Great about Socal, is every extreme sport imaginable is less then a hour aways. Things that SUCK: gas prices, traffic, Registration, our government.

I agree, I will take the boat any day over dirt riding. I just picked it up a few years ago as my winter sport. Motocross/racing is definitely an expensive and time consuming sport. I think I spend more time driving to the tracks/washing/prepping then I do riding. I will ride another month or so then transition over to the boat/lake.
Snowboarding and Skiing are my winter activities. I've had my 2 little ones on skis since they were 2 and I'm always amazed at how quickly they pick it up. I'm also a big race fan, I went to Austin last year for the inaugural race at Circuit of the Americas, with the kids, it was a great time.

yep, we used to snowboard all the time at MT. Bachelor. With three kids, I'm priced out of the market at $90 a day. So we own a boat and dirtbikes. Funny how a dirtbike is actually cheaper than snowboarding down a hill......oh well
How old are your kids. At Mt Spokane kids under 6 are free for lift tickets and there is a ski swap at the beginning of the season to get the kids into new (used) boots and skis. And a season pass at most of the mountains around me are between 250-450. It's also just a 45 min drive for me to get to the mountain so it's not that expensive per day here.
