I am relatively new here but I have been a member of other forums. I will say that it's no coincidence that when I have a question the hoes are almost always the first ones to chime in. One of the things that I love about TO is the friendly atmosphere and the welcoming members. I haven't found that on any other boat forum. I hope that whatever is decided it doesn't affect the site in a negative way. Mushy time over.

I will clear the air on this.
I did not feel the PW (Post Whore) thread represented Tigé. When I first started this site in 2003 Tigé had requested that the site be family friendly. Since then nothing has changed. The content in that thread was questionable for years but I never did anything about it until now. What some of you guys don’t realize is that some of that content is showing up in certain search engine results that link over to TigéOwners.com and lets be frank here, you guys didn’t post pictures of flowers and bunnies.
I don’t have the time or want to moderate that thread since it was used more as a chat system than a forum. Combine that with the fact that a dozen or so members only wanted to increase their post count. I realize that these members also contributed greatly to the site but it was also flooding the forum activity with quantity posts not quality.
I realize the value of the users on this site; it's what makes the community great here. So in turn I was open to create a chat feature specifically for these PW users but it was quickly dismissed that it wasn’t a good idea and as a result the users quickly turned away from the site without ever giving me a chance to create an alternative. My intentions were not to get rid of them but provide a good middle ground.
So there you have it. Hopefully that answers your questions.Comment

I think a chat board is a great idea, don't give up on it. The social aspect of the post whores is what makes this a great site. We can call ourselves something else but when people have questions and need help the hoes are usually the first to respond. When you get the main site finished and when your ready to add the chat feature let us know, I know you've been busy as heck getting this back to running and thanks for that. First I've said it before and will say it again this is an awesome site. Lots of information and knowledge. Some may not realize it but there have been friendships built from this site. People are meeting up, staying in others homes, helping each other in person outside of boats, etc... Not to knock on WW but I don't know anyone over there and hate posting there. It's not very friendly.

I was still unclear what the reasons were. If you just came out and said no pics I think we all would've been fine. Maybe you remove the post count number. Then it can't be about the post because no one would know.
I know that moderating the thread takes time and you don't want to but maybe an option is to add some moderators. Jean might be a good one. I know there have been times that we get hit with spam and it takes a while before you can get to it. If something gets out of hand then warn people about it then take action.

From the Off Topic thread there have been several guys that have met up in person and done things, boating, met up for a drink while traveling, helped other out, etc.. That didn't / doesn't happen in the general thread.
I still check the site regularly but am being cautious about posting. I hope this is taken as some honest constructive feedback.
