Yeah there was a lot about nothing but if you look in there there was also alot about Tige. Many of us got quick help in there instead of opening new threads where we would not get the answers we were looking for. There are questions information about other products, hence the off topic, many forums have places for that. If that was not allowed to discuss anything except for the one thing than it should be stated.
And yes I am one of the ones that keep all my emails. I store them on my own so no one can complain. Don't know how many times I have been able to fix, resolve, correct a problem from using an email from several years ago. Kinda chuckle when someone that deletes an email right after they read it or before gets in a jam. But each is to his own and what works for him.
What takes up more; saving one email that has the needed information or sending an email every couple of weeks for the same information?
Well that depends. not going to debate what was legit or not. but how many posts where beyond just increasing post count... endless on that end from what I saw. some value. yes.. percentage wise.. not high.
A better question would be this skipp?. how many times do you answer a post by searching the site.. as I see you do.. and that answer comes from this thread... % wise I say or see it low. it usually comes from another section... this thread i see as a social outlet for a few.. and that is ok. he is just saying that there is a better way..... dont think he is saying anything is being done wrong.. it just eats up resources.... guess his take would be is it his job to facilitate that for a few? (that is my assumption?)
now your last question... its same same... you keep one email or send one... only thing your doing is swapping disc space for bandwidth by asking again. (and your time) but your sentence above states you store that out of a DB so its not taxing any system to pull it... other then your local cpu\disc space... unlike every post here.. that is stored.. indexed, and looked up when pulled over and over. not comparing apples to apples if your store outside of where ALL your email is kept. like I said above... keep what has value... get rid of the rest. What I said was thought out..... given I deal with this same issue.. day after day. I was suprised he did not nix it ages ago to be honest. I think if you maintained a site like this you would have entirely different outlook on things... then again I am just a network\server admin.. WTF do I know.
