I appreciate the permission to use food stamps but my wife and I do not need that social handout. We have labored at both blue and white collar jobs over our lifes and we will recover without them.

Too many take advantage of the system and although we have been setback we will improvise, overcome and adapt.

Need more people with this mindset.

I don't mind giving people a hand up, something to get them on their feet again in times of hardship but like Money said, people abuse it and take advantage of it pretty bad. Of course we do mainly hear the stories of the abusers and not the ones that it helped out and they are on their feet again giving back when they have money.
