I used to be that guy, but found out rather quickly I'd never be able to raise 4 kids on those wages. What did I do? I put myself through school with student loans, working part time. Our family (yes, all 6 of us) lived within our means but stayed busy with recreational activities that didn't involve lots of money. Can you believe I paid back all those student loans just last year, and I didn't even have to have a bailout? Now, 20 plus years later, I'm starting to reap the rewards that came to me through lots of hard work and sacrifice. My kids tell me all the time that they never perceived us to be poor, but we were. They actually work hard themselves because they had their parents as role models to show them that success comes to those who work for it. Oh, and just for the record, I'm way below the 250k top earners that the Dems want to overtax, not even close.

x2 Worked my butt off for 35 years. Will admit to salary in upper middle class. Paid my fair share of taxes with no loopholes other than IRA, 401K, pre-tax meds. Now due to circumstances my income is 1/5 of what it was in 2010 which equals my 1980 income. Staggering. I don't blame the Dem's for my nightmare. My 2 daughters leaarned about work ethics. both have graduated. One in accounting, one in medicine. They worked hard and both landed jobs before they graduated. College grads who cannot find work may have selected wrong majors. Demand for programmers is growing again especially with Cloud or Web skills. Accounting is a reasonable bet and a medical background has good demand. Education is important to land higher paying jobs that will get you to middle class mid point in time. When i hear from a candidate that college students cannot find work I have concerns, but, i also know that kids who graduated in last 2-4 years with my daughters from state schools (Colorado Sate and Northern IL) were able to find decent employment in education, software development, physical therapy and computer design as examples.

So, our local news is recapping the debate. They mentioned the "watching" parties around the city and stated that the Dems held their party at the Obama campaign office and the Reps held theirs at a local bar & grill............where they probably spent money that went into the local economy that went toward the salaries of the servers and other staff, vendors of the food and drink, utility co cause the lights were on and water was run, and of course local taxes on prepared food.

You'll are smart enough to draw your own conclusion.

The real reason that Nancy Pelosi is considering retiring is that they took

her Jet away.



As a result of a Judicial Watch filing under the Freedom of Information Act,

the USAF released documents detailing House Speaker Pelosi's use of United

States Air Force aircraft between March 2009 and June 2010. The data are

published in the Judicial Watch Verdict of December 2010, Volume 16, Issue

12.



Here are the main highlights revealed by the USAF. Keep in mind that all the

data below relate to United States Air Force aircraft used by one woman over

a sixteen month period.



Several of these flights included Ms. Pelosi's guests, such as grown

children, grandchildren, various in-laws, friends and hangers-on. Over 95%

of the trips were between the west coast and Washington , DC , for what you

might call a commute between home and the office. READ it and WEEP!!



Total trips: 85 over a 68 week period, or 1.25 average trips per week.

Total mileage: 206,264 miles, or 2,427 average miles per trip.

Total flying time: 428.6 hours, or an average of 5 hours per trip.

Cost to the taxpayers: $2,100,744, or $27,715 per trip, or $1,285,162 per

year!

Cost of in flight food and alcohol: $101,429; $1,193 per trip; $62,051 per

year.



On one junket to Baghdad, according to the Air Force report, she had the

aircraft bar stocked with Johnny Walker Red Scotch, Grey Goose Vodka, E&J

Brandy, Bailey's Irish Cream, Maker's Mark Whiskey, Courvoisier Cognac,

Bacardi Rum, Jim Beam Whiskey, Beefeater Gin, Dewar's Scotch, Bombay

Sapphire Gin, Jack Daniels Whiskey, Corona Beer and several varieties of

wine. This was obviously a very important "guvment bidness" trip.



Evidence generally speaks for itself, and in Ms. Pelosi's case it speaks the

language of abuse and (evidently) a serious familial drinking problem, for

in a single year she and her spawn drank an amount in excess of the net

income of the average employed American! When she said, "... If the stimulus

doesn't pass, five hundred million people might lose their jobs...", I

thought she was unintentionally revealing her ignorance. I'm now more

inclined to think she was pickled.



Even though she can no longer abuse the USAF, she can either fly on her own

broom, or fly Southwest Airlines, where bags fly free.



If you are an AMERICAN citizen it is YOUR DUTY to PASS THIS ON!!

This is scary and should alarm any thinking US citizen. Obama seems WAY to eager to make friends with our enemies. But in turn, he's pushing away our allies. The US was not liked by many in the middle east before Obama and was hated by most. It seems that we have lost what little traction we had. One of our greatest and long time middle east allies seems to now be a little put off with some recent events adn comments on our part.

I saw this and thought, the video shows exactly what happened yet he still maintains it did not happen. I thought it drew some parallels to the debates.

I appreciate the permission to use food stamps but my wife and I do not need that social handout. We have labored at both blue and white collar jobs over our lifes and we will recover without them.

Too many take advantage of the system and although we have been setback we will improvise, overcome and adapt.

And in Mondays game against the bears he almost breaks Cutlers neck. The world is full of half truths.

It does remind me of the debate in a way. An unmentioned candidate(by me) sstated that Irans path to the seas is thru Syria. That is a dilly of a half truth considering that they have direct access to the Caspian and Adriatic seas to their North and south without going thru any other country.
