I dont consider the welfare of other peoples familys and lifes as something to banter about.
As to corporations again I guess you didnt study your history , for the era at the time, the worlds largest car manufacturer was the Ford Motor Company, and guess what they were the only non union auto maker, and workers were flocking in droves to work there, why the highest wages, best medical and retirement benefits of any company, and even the depression hit , they gave all employees a raise in salary, it wasnt till the late 1930s that they were forced into the labor unions and the workers made less and fewer benefits.
You might also find of interest that Henry Ford went to the banks and gave them money to loan out at better rates to any person wanting to purchase a Ford, and thats why today I wont purchase any car but a Ford because the oringinal family is still in charge and didnt take a bailout , dont you also find it interesting that The Obama adminstration forced Ford to remove there F150 add which had the testimonial of a consumer who stated that he bought the truck because Ford didnt take the bailout, but I guess the way to help and support your fellow Americans is to buy a Toyota and let the profit go over seas with the jobs!!!!!!

The jobs are gone my friend. Every society will always have lazy people that want a hand out. That will never change. Your example is nothing more than a cowardly poke showing your lack of compassion and understanding for others who fell victim to corporate greed and who's institutions have complete disregard for social welfare and the very own society they reap their reward from. One can only wish you fall to the same fate.

I bought a Ford for the same reason. The fact that they did not take the handout spoke volumes.

The only statement in this whole comment that is true is the first sentence. See California for an explanation to that...

Comcast is moving their call centers out of the state because it's too expensive to do business in this state.

Campbell's Soup closing their plant, because it's too expensive to too business in this state.

VSP, the world's largest vision health care system is leaving California soon because they can't afford the taxes levied on them by the state.

Is that the model you think will save this country? It's getting to the point where it's too expensive to be an EMPLOYEE in this state, let alone a business that can hire people looking to work. Just wait until it's that case across the entire country.

The rest of your statement is worthless to 'debate'

IMHO the debate itself was a waste of our time. Neither candidate would talk specifics and either sat on the proverbial fence or danced around the issues. Romney would not get specific about his plans for recovery and Obama kept repeating the 7 trillion in cuts that somehow Romney would make. Thank goodness I recorded and was able to fast forward thru bs.

DOM opened a very valid thread but it has been hijacked and taken so many times by nobody mainly it has turned into.

The subject was not how bad congress is voting along party lines and not do what is best for the American people or many of the other tangents the thread has gone down.

I could get into a long discusion about entitlements since I am drawing SSA disability because the private disability policy won't cover me. I paid for the coverage but big business won't cover their commitment defined by their terms so I have no choice until I can get my case heard by our judicial system. I took out private LTD policy so I did not have to use "entitlements". So even though the inssurance company doctors agree that I am disabled by their definition, they won't cover their obligations. Enough of my chatter. Hopefully the thread will get back on track or just end.

The debates were horrible as they usually are. Canned speeches written by the best writers rehearsed with perfection. End of story. This is basically a political thread that's dominated by a bunch of staunch republicans and a few immature adults who dislike political opposition and need to control, berate and belittle those that oppose them on political views. Dom's kangaroo thread is officially closed.

My previous employer was the manufacturer of a very sophisticated cancer treatment machine. The company has thousands of employees around the world, many of which were field service such as myself and one particular guy in Canada.

Canada's healthcare system denied this other employee I worked with treatment on the very machine he serviced.
Why was his treatment denied? It was deemed "too expensive" by the Canadian healthcare system. Our employer, after stepping up to bat with Canada on his behalf finally folded and paid for his treatment.

Just a story to share with you all. Take what you want from it but I think it paints a pretty clear picture.
