If you had worked all day preparing a meal and you were plenty hungry. How would you like it if the government told you you had to feed all your neighbors who didn't work or even cook?THE DIFFERENCE IN THE VIEWS IS:One group of people take personal responsibility for their actions, show a self starting ability and work hard for what they have. The other group wants the same things, but they think crying poor little me is hard enough work that they should be equally compensated. Also they accuse the first group of being greedy for keeping the money they worked for.I don't mind helping someone if they can help themselves afterwards. If they always need help,i can't help them because i didn't take them to raise. This is America the land of the FREE! This just hit my in-box The last line sums up whats going on right now in this country

The person who wrote this is a college student. Perhaps there is hope for us all.

        DIVORCE AGREEMENT

        Dear American liberals, leftists, social
        progressives, socialists, Marxists and Obama
supporters, etal: We have stuck together since the late 1950's for
the sake of the kids, but the whole of this latest election
process has made me realize that I want a divorce.

I know we tolerated each other for many years for the sake of
future generations, but sadly, this relationship has clearly run its course.

Our two ideological sides of America cannot and will not ever agree on what is right
for us all, so let's just end it on friendly terms. We can smile
and chalk it up to irreconcilable differences and go our own way.

Here is a our separation agreement:

Our two groups can equitably divide up the country by landmass each taking a similar
portion. That will be the difficult part, but I am sure our two sides can come to a
friendly agreement. After that, it should be relatively easy! Our respective representatives can
effortlessly divide other assets since both sides have such distinct and disparate tastes.

--We don't like redistributive taxes so you can keep them.

--You are welcome to the liberal judges and the ACLU.

--Since you hate guns and war, we'll take our firearms, the cops, the NRA and the
        military.

--We'll take the nasty, smelly oil industry and the coal mines, and you can go with wind,
        solar and biodiesel.

--You can keep Oprah, Michael Moore and Rosie O'Donnell. You are, however,
responsible for finding a bio-diesel vehicle big enough to move all three of
        them.

--We'll keep capitalism, greedy corporations, pharmaceutical companies, Wal-Mart and
        Wall Street.

--You can have your beloved lifelong welfare dwellers, food stamps, homeless, homeboys,
        hippies, druggies and illegal aliens.

--We'll keep the hot Alaskan hockey moms, greedy CEO's and rednecks.

--We'll keep Bill O'Reilly, and Bibles and give you NBC and Hollywood .

--You can make nice with Iran and Palestine and we'll retain the right
to invade and hammer places that threaten us.

--You can have the peaceniks and war protesters. When our allies or our way of life are
under assault, we'll help provide them security.

        --We'll keep our Judeo-Christian values.

--You are welcome to Islam, Scientology, Humanism, political correctness and

Shirley McClain. You can also have the U.N. but we will no longer be paying the
        bill.

--We'll keep the SUV's, pickup trucks and oversized luxury cars. You can take every Volt and Leaf you can find.

--You can give everyone healthcare if you can find any practicing doctors.

--We'll keep "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" and "The National Anthem."

--I'm sure you'll be happy to substitute "Imagine", "I'd Like to Teach the World
to Sing", "Kum Ba Ya" or "We Are the World".
--We'll practice trickle-down economics and you can continue to give trickle up
        poverty your best shot.
--Since it often so offends you, we'll keep our history, our name and our flag.

        Would you agree to this?

If so, please pass it along to other like-minded liberal and conservative patriots and if you do not agree, just hit delete.

In the spirit of friendly parting, I'll bet you might think about which one of us will need whose help in 15 years.

        Sincerely,

        John J. Wall
        Law Student and an American

P.S. Also, please take Ted Turner, Sean Penn, Martin & Charlie Sheen, Barbara Streisand, & ( Hanoi ) Jane Fonda with you.

P.S.S. And you won't have to press 1 for English when you call our country.

Forward This Every Time You Get It ! Let's Keep This Going, Maybe Some Of It Will Start Sinking In!!

Oh GOD! Everything is a handout to you guys. What about the people at the local sandwich or pizza shop, or the cashier, or the taxi driver, or lawn care people, or the millions of care givers or social workers that give back to our society. They all make poverty wages, thus their lazy? How sick! They can barely afford to put food on their table much less pay for medical insurance. If they have preexisting conditions, TUFF LUCK!

Wow, that is a huge generalization considering that the majority of the 10 poorest states are RED. You would think that with what you have stated that the poorest would be blue.

Looks like the majority of the richest states are Blue. Probably from all of the handouts they get...

I used to be that guy, but found out rather quickly I'd never be able to raise 4 kids on those wages. What did I do? I put myself through school with student loans, working part time. Our family (yes, all 6 of us) lived within our means but stayed busy with recreational activities that didn't involve lots of money. Can you believe I paid back all those student loans just last year, and I didn't even have to have a bailout? Now, 20 plus years later, I'm starting to reap the rewards that came to me through lots of hard work and sacrifice. My kids tell me all the time that they never perceived us to be poor, but we were. They actually work hard themselves because they had their parents as role models to show them that success comes to those who work for it. Oh, and just for the record, I'm way below the 250k top earners that the Dems want to overtax, not even close.

The thing that I am liking about Romney is that he apparently will be doing a lot of work "off the clock". He said the government doesn't create jobs but he is saying that he is going to create 12 million new ones so I am assuming that he will be doing that off the clock. On the other hand, it's hard for him to attack Obama on his jobs record since the Govt doesn't create jobs. So if Romney wins and runs for re-election, what does he run on if the 12 million were created? How does he defend the "you didn't build that" scenario if he is the one creating the 12 million jobs? I am SO CONFUSED!

Well, the Gov does create jobs.........Government jobs, which has ballooned under Obama.

WHat I here from Romney is not that he/Gov will create the jobs, but he has a plan so the the actual private sector can create jobs. Basically getting this 16 trillion dollar gorilla off our backs.

Oh, I see. So people use his plane to get to and from job interviews and such? That's nice of him!

I've heard that a lot but would find it really hard to believe in my state, where the grim reaper has slashed state and local government spending to the bone. There are far fewer government employees here than there were in 2008.

Do you have any specifics on which areas of government or regions of the country have seen the ballooning?

I thought maybe it was a spelling error so I decided to look up the "plan" and up popped this: http://www.romneytaxplan.com/
I was not able to get all of the details though.
I'm trying to make this thread a little more fun and a little less volatile. Politics are way too serious!

Im sure local level and state Gov jobs have shrunk in the recent months as many are running out of money. But the Feds have added jobs. IRS has added a bunch of extra "Tax-Men" to come collect on us poor small businesses that cant afford to cover our employees benefits.
