ok, so here is the verdict, apple fanboyism aside, no joke....

Apple TV take 2 is the bomb. I have the 360, and media centers, and have tried just about all. This is awesome. The apple tv now supports 1080p connections, if your equipment supports, and hd rental movies at 720p are gorgeous. I bought The Core, at full DVD resolution, and it looks fantastic, like a DVD, maybe a few artifacts. So then I rented The Core, in HD. First, I rented, and it took 15 mins before it could start playing on my connection. I started playing it right away. I am guessing, if you did a side by side with bluray, it would suffer, but it is DEF way better than DVD, and looks fantastic, and full 5.1 DD sound if you have the hardware. I watched the whole movie with my kids. It was always downloading in the background, yet remained perfectly smooth. I sensed a handful of tiny stutters, but they were almost unnoticeable.

This is finally the service I will use to rent movies, and not go to the corner, and I will probably drop my netflix account as apple picks up more hd movies. There is already a decent selection.
