There wasn't an option for Bacon, so I guess I'm a Republican. Its really funny how through college I was a strong Democrat, but after getting a job and realized where all my tax money is going, I'm swung sides.

I think a lot of kids are strong democrats coming out of college because most professors are very liberal. And they slowly switch sides once they start making money.

      Politics....

If you aren't a Democrat when you are young, you don't have a heart.
If you aren't a Republican when you are old, you don't have a brain.

or from a cartoon I read in Mad Magazine circa 1972...
What's the difference between Democrats and Republicans....?
The Democrats believe The Man exploits Man
The Republicans think it's the other way around.

I bet when it comes down to it, the Tea Party will follow the constitution about as well as its conservative membership follows the bible...when it's convenient for them or on Easter and Christmas.

That's hilarious, I was watching a special on kids in college that were strongly democrat and I was telling my wife, that's because they haven't graduated yet and seen their paychecks and then looked at what they owe a month for student loans!

Republican - because everyone can't be on welfare!

Kind of a silly question for the most part - people that can afford Tige boats typically are high income earners compared with the general population. With that being said, "high" income earners irrespective of philosophical beliefs tend to vote towards policies that are focused on limiting their tax burdens. Democratic policies tend to be polar opposite!

My guess is that if we look at the Tige Customer Segmentation a large proporation of Tige owners would be - white, male, 30-45 years old, joint income of greater than $80K, and republican/independent.

Point being - 80% of the tax revenues are generated by 15% of the US households (high earners - $80K +). If you are $50K year joint income family - which more than likely are not Tige owners then you tend to favor things that benefit you and you do not pay for anyway.

Maybe a few years ago! I think there are LOTS of people that fall in that category because they have been hit hard by the economy. Even though the dont own a Tige (or own one any more) and no longer have that kind of income, I'll bet their beliefs have not changed, maybe even strengthened

Son:"Dad, I have to do a special report for school. Can I ask you a question?"
Father: "Sure son. What's the question?"

                        Son: "What is politics?"

Father: "Well, let's take our home for example. I am the wage earner, so let's call me "Capitalism". Your mother is the administrator of money, so we'll call her "Government". We take care of your needs, so we'll call you "The People". We'll call the maid "The Working Class", and your baby brothe we can call "The Future".

                        "Do you understand, Son?"

Son: "I'm not really sure, Dad. I'll have to think about it".

That night, awakened by his baby brother's crying, the boy went to see what was wrong. Discovering that the baby had seriously soiled his diaper, the boy went to his parent's room and found his mother sound asleep. He went to the maid's room, where, peeking through the keyhole, he saw his father in bed with the maid. The boy's knocking went totally unheeded by his father and the maid, so the boy returned to his room and went back to sleep.

The next morning he reported to his father. "Dad, now I think I understand what politics is".

Father: "Good son! Can you explain it to me in your own words?"

Son: "Well Dad, while Capitalism is screwing the Working Class, Government is sound asleep, the People are being completely ignored and the Future is full of crap!

Heck, if you don't live in California, consider yourself lucky. I have to vote for the governor and pick the best of two evils.

                              I could not agree more.

Here is where Pelosi suggests that even property is up for 'redistribution'. Once my property is redistributed, then I will lose one of my incentives to work. That has serious consequences throughout the economy when it gets repeated millions of times across many job spectrums.

I am a little weird. I look at the world this way and have never heard anyone explain it like this: We can distribute our wealth naturally according to capitalism, or we can let the government decide how it gets distributed. I think the capitalist way results in more good for more people than allowing the government to control more and more things. There are basic things the government has to control, and the USA has gotten to the tipping point where the government has crossed that line by a long margin. Thus our financial situation.

European countries generally would be thrilled to have unemployment under 10%. We think 10% is a disaster...why?
                              Be excellent to one another.

                                So how would I vote?....
I don’t know how to break this to everybody but this country has been living beyond its means for a long long time. There is no way this is going to pass without most of us getting by on less for a long long time. I'm sure it makes little deference, until we end 'the public'/'the world' on the sugar tit.
We all do, we all will feel the change…...
(gas is cheep and food is cheep for now)
Sorry the train has left the station years ago and the bridge is out. just saying!
