Being a major OU fan and a staunch conservative.... I am perpetually vexed w/ the conundrum of who to hate more. Obama or the Univ. of Saxet.

Note: I have had them, other people may have had the opposite experience. I still have a GMC, and it runs well.

The Cummins in Dodge are the strongest motor when modded. The Allison is the best stock transmission, but the Fords just seem to keep running.

No offense on Chevy or Dodge intended. I think that Ford might have hit the right number on this truck with the new motor and transmission.

LOL! I'm very happy with my duramax. I drove my buddy's '08 Ford to Lake Powell through the mountains here in CO and I felt like my truck had more low end grunt than his but that bigger cab is just sooo nice. I can really tell the difference between my truck and my other buddy's '03 with 6.0 pulling the boats out of the lake, there's just NO comparison in that and he has a programmer, exhaust and a 1,000 lb lighter boat! I feel like I have to mash the pedal all the way to the floor just to get it going in the Ford and only 1/2 throttle with my rig but that's old vs new there....

Oh yeah, did you guys see the fuel mileage results on that test pulling a 10,000lb trailer? Ford 7.49mpg, Chevy 6.78mpg!?!?!? WTF is all that about!?!?!? Unloaded they got 16.68 out of the Ford and 17.99 from the Chevy. I will be interested to see how they got their #'s.

All i have to say is that i believe not sure though but if you looked it up somewhere it would show more Ford Trucks were sold year after year after year then chevy, dodges, toyotas, nissans, those last 2 i dont even consider as real trucks., Ford's Truck line will most likely always be the best for reasons i dont know, but ill never buy a Chevy/Dodge Cuz they took bail out money.

Back to the new Ford and Chevy - that is a crazy amount of power from the factory, should I really complain about the mileage? LOL! The stock power is a lot but I would settle for a little less if they could get me 15mpg towing the boat and 20+ hwy @ 75mph on real tires (245 and 265's don't count as REAL tires to me).
Some people have there problems. What kit did he have?

I will let ya know how i do with it....theres nothing better then only going to the pump every 3 months.

How many people here use their truck as a daily driver? I really only use mine for towing our hauling bigger stuff around.

Daily driver here too. 40k mile in 2 1/2 years on ours.

Negative on the Ford trucks outselling GM. They outsell Chevy but if you throw in GMC (Same trucks), GM outsells Ford every year except for last year.

He has the Vegistroke kit that the company you posted makes. He got it early on though and doesn't use it anymore. They've probably made improvements by now.

how the he11 are you gonna run? Go buy that much vegetable oil? you will be spending a ton.

Go to food places and get free oil? You then have to filter it and it's a freaking mess. Plus lots of resturants won't let you take it now adays due to liability (Granted guess if you have your own place then it might work) *also what if they use lye in their grease and you don't know it.... have you ever priced new injectors on your ford?*

What does the kit cost? 10 grand? *edit i saw it's 5+ by the time you get the tank and all the parts then installation price* then your time to filter it all and go get it? You just won't make money on it or save any. But if you have disposable income and like to get messy, then

EDIT, I guess if your just wanting to stick it to the oil companies then go for it, go get the vegetable oil but hate to say it, most oil companies also have a part in the other oils on the market too

Nick Weinacker got a similar system to pay for itself. He drove his truck and RZ4 all over the country 2 years ago and put like 40k miles in 1 summer and didn't pay for 1 tank of diesel, it was all oil from restaurants. That's the year that diesel was $5 a gallon. Whatever system he had, had some crazy filtration system on it so that he didn't have to mess with it, just dumped it in and went.

i'm seeing these systems and no offense but if you can't get the oil for free it will never pay for it's self. The filters you have to use are not cheap, and if your not pre filtering it they go bad in as short as 1000 miles based on the people posting on the forums. If you can get it free, and you can pre filter at home then yes it will pay for it's self, but you still have a flipping mess, and a good gas powered pump and then 2 tanks, one for clean, one for dirty oil just takes up more space and costs more.

Also, one oil with lye in it (which is very common to use to clean grease) and you buy new injectors...

I mean if I had the money sitting around I'd probably do it, but to say your gonna save money it's not possible unless it's free or you have access to a lot of spots. Resturants in my college town wouldn't give it to you unless they knew you, and in the colder months the stuff is solid so that doesn't work either....
