Gain can always be lower then their max, as lowe the better, but no good to set higher. With the 5V line driver in the 420, you should not need the gain on the amps too high. About 1/3 up will be darn close to where they need to be.

Gains too high is #2 cause of unwanted noise.

Round here after labor day, the lakes are empty of H20-5-0 by late afternoon on weekend and non-existent on weekdays.
