How would this one do for a 55 degree day, water 45-50?

Pretty sure my son's a 3/2 and rides in those temps...he really likes the Oneill because they stretch.

I think I need a large besides my chest is bigger than they say a L is for. I went with an XL so itll be a little easier to get in and out of. Should b fine I hope
