Look at it from thin angle, how many house do you average a week now at your current rate as compared to the number of hours a week at the lower rate. It can some times come out a wash. Also, weight any difference in benefits. They are basically non-taxed income, as opposed to you covering insurance, etc out of pocket.

Id b giving up my local and national pension. And now insurance doesn't come out of my check. But the new job has a little overtime, my parents would help a bunch too cuz they want us down there. And I'd save a bunch of fuel not driving back n forth to get my daughter.

Yes. It was built in 1929. Gutted out all the lathe and plaster. The old cloth wire. All the scabbed on additions they did. What a mess it was. Two storey, 2500 sqft of debris.

Have replaced floors, new roof, all new wire, , installed central heat and ac, plumming, windows and am now doing the insulation and sheet rock. Has been a big project but am nearing the finish line.

Depending on where that is not too shabby. The town I came from $40K was like a millionaire.

The house that my parents live in was my great grandparents. May have even been great great grandparents. It is early 1900's, may have even originally been late 1800's. It had been remodeled several times before my parents bought it. They got it in '82 and we gutted it (got rid of the cloth wire and slat and plaster) and remodel with an add on of two bedrooms and two bath upstairs. Then in '92 they added a 36x36 garage, family room, dining room, basement, and large covered porch. The last three years my dad hads redone almost the entire thing again. Finishing a bonus room above the garage. It turned out really well. It has a we bad, room for a ping pong table, and then a big sitting area for watching movies with built in sound.

Lots of work but its good to see the finished product.

I helped with the original remodel they did and did most of the '92. Learned a lot.
