Trukaotic over on WW brought out the idea of putting a sub in the passenger side storage locker and popping the hatch at party cove, and even driving around it would just be a boat shaker which is kind of up my alley

If David advised against it he was right and had reason to based on the info he had. IIRC, that was before you had a sub under the helm.

The jist is, its a waste to place the primary (or single sub) in an enclosed compartment. As a secondary sub, it will be a boat shaker with no loss of musicality. A free-air 10 under helm radiating directly out into the cabin is better then any 12 in a ported enclosure with 1000W thats closed up.

Where are you running the dials on the WS-420? Make sure you're not putting in too much of treble (the last two dials).

I had 2 10's in a ported enclosure in the passenger compartment and you had to crack the door to get anything out of it.

Exactly. It takes so much energy to drive them when closed up. They do make the boat shake, but a lot of the music is lost due to the insulation.

And what I mean by single is your only sub you have in the boat.
