WTF??? An unnamed KC Chiefs player apparently shot his girlfriend, then drove to the team facilities at Arrowhead and committed suicide this morning.

Seems to be so much of this crap lately. Is it really becoming that much more common, or is it just more media coverage making it seem that way?

I think it is media coverage. Nothing can happen without being on 300 tv channels and 4000 websites.

that plus the population has been growing so the same percentage of crazies are out there, but there are more people to potentially be crazy. so i think there are more crazies and they all get national media attention.

I believe the suspected ratio of "normal" to major mental illness is 5 to 1. My wife works in a field where she has to deal with mental illness sometimes. She thinks it's more like 3 to 1.
