I think I may just have my brother fab me a new mounting tab out that's a little taller and that has some supports welded in. That way I can get rid of the spacers. I'll either rivit or through bolt the new tab in place of the old one.

speaking of TAPS - had a little issue last weekend

when we launched, the TAPS was really really slow to respond and lower down, it got better over a couple minutes, and was back to normal for the rest of the day

checked the fluid reservoir after we were done, and it was in the correct range

maybe, but it had been only like 3 weeks, and I've never noticed it act that way before, even after longer periods

I know that it wasn't due to freezing temps
