    Sextants are still used in the U.S. Navy, but not to the extent that they used to be when I joined ('86). Sailors still shoot stars, but it truly is a lost art, and not all Navigators know how to do it correctly... Long story short - Sextants are not phased out completely - YET

          {grin}

          We got rid of sextants 10 years ago, and they stopped teaching navigators how to do celetial navigation too, so even of we had them we wouldn't know what to do with them. Now we have an empty port on top of the aircraft that we use to vent fart gasses and shoot hot dogs out of.

                    I have the HTC EVO as my personal / work phone. They just decided that they want to own the numbers so they started to provide them. The only reason that we got iPhones, irrated some of the sales, was because there is an application that we use that can be accessed with an app.

                          I read that the iphone is making huge inroads in coorporate sales and eating away at RIM becuase they can configure specific phone profiles and configure special apps for company specific applications, like our ipads and the flight pubs we keep on them.

                            We would have to win our last 3 games to make playoff anyway.

                              I don't plan on using the iPhone for anything but work.
