There's technically nothing wrong with the 1.0 boats, they work just fine. Are they as good as 2.0 boats? Doesn't seem like it.

Then he will use computational fluid dynamics supercomputers to determine exactly which is the more turbulent condition. And then he will agree with your finely calibrated eye
