So the slightly akward thing about the pick nick was the inevitable question, how much was this boat? I explained I got a good deal since it was a leftover from the previous model year and that was a good enough answer. This morning I just googles 2009 RZ2 to see what they are listing for and I found this listing. It's got a heater and shower and the tower of power but no ballast, and it's listed for a bit more than I paid for mine, crazy right?

I need to find a good local upholstery place and see what kind of turnaround time they are running. I have a laundry list of little fixes for the vinyl, hatch hinges, and cover to be done. Last weekend the seatback from the bow door into the observers storage area completely stripped all the screws holding it to the hinge, and also found that the main cabin support pole is about to rip through the reinforced snap point of the cover. Grrrr...

Speaking of upholstery, I have a couple very small (less than an inch) tears in my direct drive cover... can those be "patched" effectively?

Not sure. I think I only have one small (maybe 1/4") gouge in vinyl. But I have several spots where the stitching is coming apart.

Upholstery shops have some liquid vinyl melting stuff they use to repair scratches and small tears in vinyl, they can color match too. I wouldn't DIY that stuff.

Yup, your wheel was too easy to turn, and the last time I was out it took a pretty big effort to turn the wheel.
