When we pulled the anchor up at Pueblo it had 6 inches of mud on it. So I guess if you found a place with a rock bottom you could have issues.

When we have pulled up the navy anchor it has mud on it that is a pain to wipe off.

I just leave it dangling in the water and wipe the mud away the haul it in. The bag the box anchor comes in is nice though for when you miss some.
