Mornin guys! Have to tell y'all my crazy Sunday story. We have family that lives on the lake bout 2-3 miles from our marina so we usually boat over there and visit/hang. Gives us a place to grab a bite and escape the heat. So we were there Sunday late bout 8 pm when a storm rolled thru. Had to wait it out and pull everything out of boat to keep it dry.
My sister in law and mother in law had met us at the marina in their car and rode with us.
Everyone on my boat and all the at the lake house was pretty much drunk, except for my 76 yr old aunt, me and my kids, by the time we left in the blacks a$$ dark. Even my mother in law! I had took bout 3 beers away from my hubby lol, which I'm really glad I did since what happened later!
I drive the boat back to the marina and sent my son after our car to bring it to the loading spot. Sent my sister in law after the boat cover which we just lay under a tree there at the marina. After bout 15 mins neither had returned so I go after the cover. They finally get back. My sister in law says she can't find the keys to her car! Great! This is the second time this season they have lost car keys! My husbands cussing up a storm!
Mother in law's trying to calm him down, drunk sister in law starts crying, I start loading stuff in our car, get in and no keys in the ignition. So I'm yelling at my son, "where's the keys?". He says "Cindy moved the car" ( sister in law). Oh no!!!
Hubby starts really letting the four letter words fly! Why the f*** did u give her the keys! Son (who is only 12 - yeah we let him drive the car around in the parking lot - he's 5'6, 150 lbs and needs to shave lol) about starts crying.
So there we are, 10 pm, deserted marina, two cars, 3 drunk adults, me and two really tired kids! Not a set of keys to be found! I have never heard my husband say sooooo many four letter words ever! And we had an hour drive home, and we both had to be at work the next morning at 7 am. I was starting to think it was gonna be a looooong night!
I'm asking Cindy to retrace her steps and all she keeps saying is "I never take keys out of the ignition" ...
Oh boy!
We hunt everywhere, ground, inside the car, all the bags and no keys!
I'm thinking they are in the bottom of the lake....
Then I remember she took her bag into the house when the storm came up, so I call the lake house, and thank god! My aunt finds them under her dining table. So bless her heart she drives to the marina and we finally get to head home. It's about 11:15 by then and I was actually pretty excited cause I'm getting home earlier than I thought I would!
Yesterday, I sent Cindy with my spare keys to go get my car! Yeah I was skeered to hand them over to her but at least she was sober.
I told my kids, "Lesson learned guys, never give Cindy keys, money, phone, nothing that you want to get back!"Last edited by auburntigegal; 07-03-2012, 12:21 PM.
