I thought my tower speakers were lousy horns, turns out they are just 6.5" alpine coax speakers. No wonder my riders keep saying it's not very loud out there...It's not an optical illusion.

For a very slight more money, the Kicker ZXM-RLC provides an active line-driver gain section. It has two remote controls that you mount wherever you want, so functionally it works like a pair of LC-1 controls, but the nice thig is that the RCA cables are not extended to your desired control positon.
The ZXM-RLC box is mounted right next to your amp(s) and a pair of phone cords conenct the remotes to the box. IT is a voltage-doubling line driver so you can turn your amp gains down for more noise-free operation while still giving you max output from your amps.
Connect ZONE 1 to your in-boat amp and connect ZONE 2 to your tower speaker amp. Two knobs, right at the helm, with easy control for each zone seaparately. Crank the towers and turn the in-boats off, or vice - versa.....It's not an optical illusion.

Equalizers are usualyl only dostortion generators. Most people never use them right and don't know or won't listen to someone who tells them the correct way to use them.
The classic graphic-EQ smiley face tends to fool our ear into thinking it is the best, but that classic shape is the WORST at robbing your stereo of all dynamic headroom....
Leave the EQ out of your stereo; less knobs to get wrong....Last edited by philwsailz; 06-19-2012, 03:04 PM.It's not an optical illusion.

BTW, you will really like the Kicker, hint hint...It's not an optical illusion.

I'll make my local stereo shop hook me up. I don't want to do it myself on my brand new boat.Waiting for another good one!
