I've only taken a significant wave over the bow once - on the maiden voyage, the wind picked up. Poked the nose through a wave and doused everyone in the bow. Since then, I've kept it pretty dry.
My wife and a friend, on the other hand, have apparently done it a few times when they were driving, I was surfing, and they turned around to pick me up

Speaking of that, some azzhat at my lake came into our "line" that we were surfing and then stops and sits in the same spot for 10 minutes. We loop back around and my wife is still a good 100' away off of his nose and she is running parallel to the beach and he starts yelling at us to turn counter-clockwise. I was
so I yelled back that we were and he said "Not when you're picking up your rider" so my friend's wife yelled back "We can't dumb azz or we'll sink the boat". LOL. He yelled some other obscenities back and I just ignored him because there were 3 other boats surfing the port side that were doing the same thing. I'll probably get a warning from the club...
