Got a nice father's day gift on Friday... Passat TDI.

I'll admit we haven't driven or even looked at them but were initially excited about the new Passats, but most reviews made it abundantly clear that they are NOT the European models...which is kinda the reason we buy our VWs. I drove a new Jetta last year and it was pretty much a corolla/civic/focus. Just boring, much prefer my 12 year old passat over that thing. But the mpg def sound tempting. You could drive by Smart cars and just laugh as you're getting the same mpg with a 5 pax sedan with a trunk!

Ya, per fueleconomy.gov the smart car only gets 38mpg highway on premium fuel...suckers! Passat TDI with manual is rated at 43.

Same here, and it was overcast so I didnt use any sunblock and now I'm red as a lobster.

Except the part about the lake becoming a washing machine, we were the only boat except for fishermen, who were not pleased about my new big wake.
