I really liked my iPhone but I wasn't too keen to spend the $200 on a new one if I could get a similar experience from an android that costs 1/4 the price.

So far I'm not too impressed. I'm going to give it more time but right now I feel like taking it back. Mostly because I ended up spending $150 anyway....

It seems like a fuel issue to me. Probably debris in the filter or a faulty pump.
