I just put 3900 pic's onto a HD from my Dell in 12 minutes, It took the iMac 4 minutes to pull them off

it was about 8.5GB

I downloaded Flash player it works on the imbedded video now

Oh yeah, sorry I forgot that apple doesn't like flash and they don't ship the OS with flash installed. Remember always go to the adobe website to get your flash updates, don't click on windows that pop up and tell you that you need a flash update, its most likely malware.

Apple does send out updates for Java, so hitting the software update takes care of java, you just have to worry about flash and flip4mav and silver light to play the other Microsoft video formats.
