Five if your son is big into wakeboarding and competing get the axis. I'd also get the plug n play system and that big motor. We routinely ran 3500+lbs of ballast plus wedge with the 400hp motor at over 5k elevation. Wake was on par with some pro level wakes.

So how does the RZ2 wake compare to that Axis wake? I know what the Axis is capable of. Josh Twelker was running the Axis for the last couple years, until MC gave him an X25 this year.
      Waiting for another good one!

I can definately get a great deal on a Twelker's old boat, they still have it. Only problem is it's all white. I like a little color. That's probably all the wrong reasons NOT to get it though.

And RZR vs MC might turn out to be interesting also

I only got to ride the rz2 for a little bit before my handle broke. It was also pretty windy. Our boat arrives in about 2 weeks and I can give you a much more in depth comparison then.

Axis wake: big ole meaty wake with a nice lip when you add wedge. Much wider than the rz2.

Rz2 was steeper and seemed to have a peak to it. Narrower and not as big. We were also running 2000lbs not 3500+.

Good enough for him to buy one over a Bu! Go drive one and see!

Axis is wider? How does it compare to a Bu 247? The reason I ask is because the Malibu wakes that I have ridden are narrower than my RZ2 and I figured that the Axis would be similar to them.

Axis wake is pretty wide. I've never ridden behind a 247. Give me 2 weeks and I can give a much better comparison. I really only got 10 minutes max behind the RZ2.

The MB's are narrow too. I thought it was just me but my buddy TJ rode behind the F23 Tomcat last weekend and he said he had to add 5' of rope and he was at the end of their rope and felt like he could use more.

TJ has a sacked out 20v, throws a nice wake!

dude emailed me back. He wants to come look at the boat tonight. I hope he's clear that I'm not meeting his lowball offer.
